  The pub itself - as a building - is really lovely, with a great atmospheric ambiance. Live music, open fires, cosy, but yet large - clean toilets and great service. The food however I thought was very standard - nothing special, but the presentation of the menu leads you to believe it's great, but it isn't - it's just very standard, with nothing special compared to a Wheterspoon, or Taylor Walker pub. Go in for a beer, enjoy the charming views of the sea in the distance and relax if you're in the area.

  This pub is okay. It lives on the reputation that has been built over decades of good food and drink but is now part of a local chain of pubs on the island. Still advertising as selling local ales, during my visits in June 2017 they only sold one. Everything else was mainstream. The food is nothing to write home about and for the quality it is over priced. Don't get me wrong, it is good food, but not worth what they are charging.
  Service and atmosphere are good, and despite a 3 star rating this is still a place worth visiting if local, but I wouldn't cross the island to try it out.
